How to Care for an Amy's Gourmet Caramel Apple

Shelf life is at least 1 week or up to 2  weeks when kept refrigerated. We suggest to eat the apple slightly chilled for best flavor. To slice the apple more easily, remove from the refrigerator one hour before serving. To serve our apples, place a knife 1/2" away from the stick and slice the apple top to bottom. Repeat the same motion on the other side of the apple. Finally, cut the remaining two sides away from the stick. Cut the four pieces as you desire. Every jumbo gourmet apple will yield eight to ten servings. To start your order, simply click on the apples above. YOUR SATISFACTION IS GUARANTEED!

I would like to say Thank You for the beautiful basket. I purchased a basket for my significant other for Valentine's Day. He was so happy and surprised you made his day. As of now he still has not eaten any of the apples. He says he wants to admire them a little longer. - Lakima B.

My husband and I purchased an order from you this last September for our wedding in California which I wanted to thank you for. I'm still receiving cards from guests that are asking where the apples came from. They were such a hit! The order consisted of over 200 apples and they didn't only arrive on time, but they were well intact, carefully packed on ice and carefully packaged in their individual boxes. The apples were so fresh and will more than likely be the talk of the town for months to come. In fact, several guests have since placed their own orders. Your company was a pleasure to deal with and the staff was helpful and polite each time I called with questions. Thank you for everything. We will surely place orders with you in the future. - Morgan J., CA

I absolutely LOVE caramel apples. My birthday was just on July 2nd and my sister ordered me the caramel & dark chocolate confetti apple. I wanted to take a minute to send an email and let you know what a treat it was...it was so delicious! I have had many caramel and chocolate apples from other companies and this one, by far, was my favorite. The caramel was out of this world and the dark chocolate was amazing...I'm such a dark chocolate lover. Not to mention it was so festively decorated for my birthday. Thanks for making such a yummy product...it was a very special present that I hope I now get every year!! - April, CT

Recipe for Making Your Own Gourmet Caramel Apples

Unfortunately we can't provide our secret Amy's recipe for making our signature caramel apples, but we can provide you with an at home method for making them on your own. Below indicates a recipe cited from the Food Network that makes a great 'at home' caramel that goes well with anything.

Total Time: 35 Minutes

Prep Time: 20 Minutes

Cook Time: 15 Minutes

Makes about 8 servings

Ingredients Needed:

  • 8 apples of any variety
  • 1 cup chopped peanuts or any topping as desired to use
  • 1 cup heavy cream, divided
  • 3/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions to Make

Wash and completely dry each apple that you are using to apply caramel to. After clean, skewer a stick or popsicle stick into the apple before adding any caramel to it for easier handling of the apple when dipping.

Line a baking pan with foil and place the chopped nuts or the toppings desired into the pan. Make sure the pan is big enough to withold all of the toppings comfortably for applying to the apple in a later step.

Fit a large-bottomed pan with a thermometer. Over a high heat source, cook only 3/4 of the 1 cup of cream, the 3/4 cup light corn syrup, 1/2 cup of butter and sugar to 280 degrees°F. The syrup will turn golden once you've reached the appropriate heat/mix ratio. Once that is done, remove the pan from the heat source and carefully swirl in the leftover 1/4 cup of cream as well as the vanilla extract. Please be advised that the pan might be very hot so please use extreme caution.

The caramel should now be hot, in which you can dip the apples into the caramel to coat the entire apple while allowing the excess to drip off. Once dipped, you can then dip the bottom of the apple into the baking pan lined with your chopped nuts or toppings and finalize by letting the apple cool on a baking sheet lined with non-stick spray or paper.

Once the apples have cooled, ENJOY YOUR HANDMADE CARAMEL APPLES!
